Get involved at passivhausMAINE

Each year, our trainers, staff and volunteers take part in many events around the state of Maine. From festivals to town meetings, conferences to college fairs, we’re out promoting passive house thinking. Want to help out, meet great folks and learn about passive building? Volunteer to help with general phME and partner events!

Join a committee

Our non-profit thrives through the volunteer efforts of our board and committees. These groups help guide the organization, our trainings and workshops, the content of our curriculum, and the connections we make across Maine. If you’re interested in becoming a committee members, we’d love to hear from you!

Be part of the annual Forum or the
ad hoc forum committee

Each year, phME hosts the annual forum, gathering builders, designers, legislators, advocates, educators, code officers and enthusiasts to discuss all things passive. We need volunteers to join our ad hoc forum committee and help to plan this large, multi-day event, as well as to work during the event itself. The forum spans multiple days and includes keynote talks, panel discussions, break-away seminars site walks and more.

The forum happens each year in February. We’re already gearing up for the fourteenth event, which will take place in Portland, February 2027. Interested in volunteering for the committee or the event? Email us with the link below.

Seeking volunteers for our 2026 WindowDressers Community Build workshop

WindowDressers Community Builds bring together volunteers to build window inserts for homes in their communities, to help decrease heating expenses. We’re seeking both volunteers and customers for the next Community Build, happening this fall at our headquarters in Freeport (35 Main Street).
