To our members and friends,
For the 2025 summer funding drive, we wanted to do something different. For years we’ve enjoyed making custom passivhausMAINE shirts for staff, volunteers and board members, and to sell for donations at our events. Over the past year, as our programming and crew has expanded, we’ve been invigorated with new ideas, new event and training series, and fresh branding and designs to match. At the same time, special runs of phME shirts have been popular items at recent events–some of our friends have even asked if they could snag some phME merch.
We thought it was time to launch an online store and let our members, supporters, program participants and community really show off their commitment to high efficiency building in Maine. The phME SHOP features a range of phME-branded items like hoodies, crop-tops, hats, t-shirts, bags and mugs. It gives our supporters a new way to really proclaim their support for sustainable, carbon-neutral building. By sporting phME gear, you not only help our mission but also raise awareness about the importance of energy-efficient design in Maine and beyond.
As we’ve been building our store, we’ve also been hard at work. Over the past year, we hired Erin Scally, CPHT, as our Training Director. Her efforts have overseen the launch of a pre-apprenticeship training program, a municipal series for Maine cities and towns, K-12 classroom education, as well as the addition of the IECC 2021 residential curriculum to our statewide training program. Dori has been tirelessly increasing organizational partnership and filling the calendar–both in-person and digital–with incredible programming like monthly site walks, the phME lecture series and new webinars. And under Mika’s direction, the retrofitMAINE Initiative and our BuildingsUP work are moving forward at full speed. In addition to connecting with homeowners in Lewiston and Freeport to get retrofit projects started, this September will see the inaugural retrofitMAINE Symposium.
These initiatives are part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a resilient and energy-independent Maine through education, advocacy and community engagement.
And we want your help! Visit our new phME store and explore the offerings.
Your support helps us continue our work towards a sustainable future.
Thanks!
Naomi Beal, passivhausMAINE Executive Director
We understand not everyone wants to get the latest, coolest passive building gear and apparel. Some people may want to make a donation to our capital drive instead. That’s always appreciated. Your support is what enables us to advocate, educate, collect and share data, and train the next generation of Maine builders.
Because of your purchases and donations, we’re able to:
Hold state-wide training sessions on passive building principles, home retrofitting, and Maine building codes
Share information, new processes, and passive house technologies
Organize and encourage local and state legislators to undertake policy reform
Lead seminars, workshops, site-walks and events to disseminate new skills and knowledge
And loudly advocate for passive building, passive designers architects, builders and producers, and encourage our partners and other changemakers
Rather make a donation? Great! Use the form below.
It only takes a minute.
This year at phME…
